Leon Thomas Opens Up With The Simmering Neo-Soul Cut 'Mutt'
With a deep bass that overcrowds the other elements of production and darkens the soundscape, Leon Thomas evaluates the risk of loving someone on his latest sensuous and slow-burning offering ‘Mutt’ as he makes his return from his debut album Electric Dusk.
On ‘Mutt’ gentle synths and melodic piano notes smoothen the rough edges of the off-beat percussion enough for Leon’s neo-soul approach to strike a chord.
Feigning nonchalance, whilst emitting vulnerability the singer-songwriter shares his perfective as he slows down, admitting to a clairvoyant past.
More importantly, he is open to falling in love despite the risks and shares the reasoning behind his original reluctance with his love interest. As he sings " I let my guard down for you, said I'll be vulnerable so you can break my heart if you want to."
Thomas has announced that he is currently working on a new album, which will be released via EZMNY Records / Motown Records.
He has also announced that he will join LA artist BLXST on his North American tour from October 1st.
